Overview

The TDI Helitrox CCR Diver course introduces the use of helium-based diluent gases in closed circuit rebreather diving, bridging the gap between air diluent CCR and full trimix CCR.

By adding helium, divers reduce narcosis and improve clarity at depth, while learning to manage formal decompression diving using a CCR system.

Training focuses on gas planning, PO₂ control, decompression execution, and bailout strategy, where precision and discipline are critical.

At N9BO℠, this course is delivered as progressive CCR training, developing control, awareness, and execution under increasing depth and decompression requirements.

Helitrox is a trimix blend with limited helium (typically up to ~35%), used to reduce narcosis while maintaining manageable decompression profiles.

You are certified to a maximum of 45 metres / 150 feet, using helitrox diluent and formal decompression procedures.

You must complete a minimum of:

  • 7 open water dives
  • 420 minutes total bottom time

This course introduces:

  • Helium-based gas planning
  • Increased depth beyond 40m
  • Mandatory decompression diving
  • More complex bailout scenarios

You are qualified to conduct unit-specific CCR dives using helitrox diluent, managing decompression obligations, helium-based gas planning, and bailout procedures within your training limits.
