The TDI Equipment O₂ Service Technician course trains candidates to prepare and service scuba equipment for use with oxygen-rich and technical diving gases.
This programme focuses on:
oxygen cleaning procedures,
compatible materials and lubricants,
regulator and valve servicing,
and contamination prevention for oxygen-compatible systems.
Training develops the knowledge and practical ability required to safely prepare:
regulators,
cylinders,
valves,
and manifolds for use with EAN and technical gas mixtures.
Service and oxygen-clean regulators, cylinder valves, manifolds, system components.
Select and apply oxygen-compatible lubricants, O-rings, cleaning chemicals.
Learn compressor and filtration system considerations, oxygen analysis procedures, technical gas handling principles.
Apply contamination prevention and equipment sign-out procedures.
Prerequisites
Be at least 18 years old.
Hold Nitrox Gas Blender certification
Hold VIP certification
Be medically fit to participate in training activities.
FAQ
Oxygen service refers to preparing equipment for safe use with:
Enriched air nitrox
Oxygen-rich gases
Technical diving gas systems
This requires strict contamination control and oxygen-compatible materials.
You will learn to oxygen-service:
Regulators
Cylinder valves
Manifolds
Technical gas system components
No. This is a technical workshop and equipment servicing program with no in-water training.
You must successfully:
Service a regulator for oxygen use
Service a cylinder valve
You are qualified to prepare and service regulators, cylinders, valves, and manifolds for oxygen-compatible use with enriched air and technical diving gases, within your certification and manufacturer limits.
