The TDI Advanced Wreck Diver course trains divers to conduct advanced wreck penetration dives, including operations beyond the light zone in true overhead environments.
Unlike recreational wreck diving, this programme focuses on full penetration procedures, guideline protocols, gas management, restricted exits, and emergency problem-solving inside complex wreck structures.
Training develops the ability to operate safely in environments where:
Direct ascent is impossible
Visibility may rapidly deteriorate
Navigation and team discipline are critical
At N9BO℠, this course is delivered as high-discipline overhead environment training, combining precise buoyancy control, propulsion techniques, guideline management, and emergency response under task loading.
Ratio: Maximum of 4 students per instructor (small groups recommended for quality training)
Configuration: Technical wreck configuration with redundant gas supply, primary and backup lights, reels/spools, and guideline equipment
Depth / environment: Maximum depth 100m / 330ft, All mixed gas dives conducted deeper than 40m / 130ft, Multiple deep decompression dives required
Format: Academic development + land drills + wreck penetration dives
Duration: Typically completed in 4 days (Minimum 6 open water dives with at least 100 minutes accumulated bottom time)
