PADI Tec 40
The PADI Tec Basics course is a structured introduction to technical diving systems, focusing on equipment configuration, precision buoyancy, and procedural discipline.
Training is conducted within no-decompression limits, allowing divers to develop control and awareness while managing increased task loading and technical equipment.
At N9BO℠, Tec Basics is where divers transition from recreational habits to technical execution — building the control required before entering decompression training.
This course is for divers who want to transition into technical diving and develop the control, discipline, and configuration required before decompression training.
No. All dives are conducted within no-decompression limits, although Dive Two simulates decompression procedures.
You will complete two structured dives: the first focused on equipment and control, and the second introducing simulated decompression procedures while maintaining trim, buoyancy, and team positioning.
The course is limited to 24 metres, with the first dive restricted to 10 metres and the second dive conducted between 10 and 24 metres.
Yes. At instructor discretion, elements of Tec Basics may be credited toward Tec 40 training, provided the same configuration and performance standards are maintained.
Send us your certifications and dive history. We’ll guide you into structured technical training with the right configuration and progression.
Advance into technical instruction with the PADI Tec 40 Instructor rating. This qualification allows you to teach PADI Tec Basics and guide divers through their first structured step into technical diving, building the control, discipline, and systems required for progression into decompression training.
